How to paint a Black colored dog By Kathy Reed I have been an artist for years and my favorite media is acrylic on canvas. One of my favorite subjects is my newfoundland dog. Recently I stumbled on a way to really capture the tones and shades of black. It works really well to take a digital photo of the dog, then transfer it onto the desktop and put it up on the computer with photoshop. Blow it up big, look at it enlarged, gather your paints and your canvas, and sit in front of the computer and then do the painting. It's much easier to get the right colors!! you can see both of my newfoundland dog images on one of my artist "stores" located at the associated link. Plus I have uploaded two of my latest paintings. Both of these original paintings are for sale and also as a framed print or greeting card or poster;at the associated links.
